Just a bit further down the road from the main street, BBTB is comparitively quiet, with lovely staff, relaxed atmosphere and comfortable rooms. The trivia and movie night every evening are a good way to meet people, and other regular hostel events like killer pool and poker night are a nice option for an evening in. Would reccomend. just a bit out of the centre part of airlie beach, but very walkable!! staff great and very helpful - supply a van service to get you to town and meet the greyhound bus!!! movies by the bar at night; don't hesitate to stay at backpackers!!! Angela, from USA ~ 8th Mar 2010  (www.hostels.com)
I loved this place, its just out of town but worth the walk. The staff are amazing the rooms are good sized and both the bathroom and rooms are cleaned everyday On an evening its great you can get a beer watch a movie then make your way into town to party, if you dont fancy parting you can chill here - drink, play pool, have a laugh with the staff - then make your way to bed without worrying about crazy noise when the party people come back. Extremely friendly and helpful staff...felt very welcomed to stay when I needed to kill some time until my night bus left.

Excellent backpackers. the rooms and communal areas were spacious and clean and the staff were very helpful. free pickup from the bus and free drop off. town is only a 5min walk away.

Loved this place. Staff so helpful with everything and its so close to town (2/3min walk), but far enough away for a great nights sleep after a hectic few days on one of the Whitsundays boat. Very clean!!! and organised events/movie night, pool/poker etc nights aswell. A place you can really just chill and go with the flow. In the hope I get back to Airlie before going home (next year), BPBTB is the hostel I'll be staying at again. Will definately be recommending this to fellow travellers

"This hostel has to be the best we've stayed in during our 5 months in Australia. All the staff are fantastic and have treated us like friends and family instead of customers. We finally won the quiz and our bottle of champagne!!
We'll miss you all and remember this place forever!!

"...chill atmosphere...amenities galore.....and a sweet view of the bay."

Lonely Planet 2008 - Australia

"Away from the madding crowd, this small and quiet backpackers occupies a great vantage point on top of a hill. The atmosphere is friendly, the dorms have just four beds and the double rooms are some of the best around"
